President's Message

Home PageGreetings and Welcome,

Welcome to the Alpha Pi Omega Chapter website. It is my pleasure to serve as President of this great chapter. Chartered in 1929, Alpha Pi Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated is proud of its rich history and service to the Knoxville community and beyond.

Alpha Pi Omega Chapter, through our Annual Alfredda Delaney Scholarship Brunch, Debutante Program, and support of the local Urban League, YWCA, YMCA, and NAACP, reaches out to children, youth, and families in the Knoxville Community. Additionally, Alpha Pi Omega supports other community initiatives such as Habitat for Humanity and the Knoxville Area Urban League’s Shoes for School Campaign.

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated was founded in 1908 on the campus of Howard University in Washington, D.C. It is the first Greek letter organization established by African American college women. In 2008 we will return to our founding site for our centennial celebration. For additional information about our sorority’s history and international focus, visit Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority’s official website at www.aka1908.com.
