To the Alpha Pi Omega Chapter website. I am very excited to serve as President of this chapter. Chartered in 1929, Alpha Pi Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated is proud of its rich history and service to the Knoxville community and beyond.
Alpha Pi Omega Chapter reaches out to the Knoxville Community through various programs and services, our Annual Alfredda Delaney Scholarship Brunch, Debutante Program, and support of the local Urban League, YWCA, YMCA, and NAACP. In addition, Alpha Pi Omega supports other community initiatives such as, an Annual Health Fair, the Knox County Public Library Children’s Festive of Reading, andthe Knoxville Urban League Shoes for School Campaign.
Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated was founded in 1908 on the campus of Howard University in Washington, D.C. It is the first Greek letter organization established by African American college women. For additional information about our sorority’s history and international focus, visit Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority’s official website at www.aka1908.com.
